Born in Savannah, GA and raised in Mobile, AL, I am a Southerner at heart with a huge love of travel, new cultures, and food! I went to college at the University of Alabama. There I found interest in many subjects, but ultimately declared a major in Germanic Studies, which led me to study abroad my senior year. It was a wonderful experience to live abroad at a young age. Thereafter I moved to Charlotte, NC for a year and worked for a great lawyer, Stan Harris, while I applied to grad school. I continued on to grad school at the University of Texas at Austin where I taught undergrad German classes and earned my Master's degree in Germanic Studies. Though I wouldn't take back the experience, I learned that teaching was not my true love. So, I began to look for a different career path!

I landed at a wonderful family practice doctor's office in Austin where I worked for the next 7 years. I managed the office for most of this time, and gained invaluable hands-on experience about the rewards and challenges of growing a small business. During this time, I completed my MBA at Concordia University where I also met Joe.

While Joe and I both loved Austin and all the great food, Texas was getting horribly crowded and hotter every year! We decided it was time to be closer to family, and decided to make the big leap to Charlotte to start our own business. My goals are to build an excellent reputation in Charlotte, foster lasting relationships with our clients, and to create a space where Joe and I give back to our community, especially to veterans (like Joe and my brother). My hobbies include running (I even completed a Tough Mudder in 2012!), practicing yoga, cooking vegan food that Joe lovingly eats (most of the time), and reading.
